Two trends that usually show themselves in fall: scarves and jewel tones.
Typically when you think of a scarf, it’s one that you can wrap around your neck for days and still tie in some sort of creative knot. A square neck scarf might seem limited due to it’s size or length, but with a little creativity, it can be a signature accessory for you this fall and add an unexpected element to your look.
As for the jewel tones, they are very forgiving if you lose your summer glow–they flatter just about every skin tone. These are the colors to start working into your wardrobe to add richness and depth during the autumn/winter months. Think dark teal, forest green, aubergine or plum, golden yellow (or “mustard”), burgundy, navy, etc. And don’t limit yourself to clothes. Accessories, such as scarves, boots, bags, and belts, are always useful for adding a pop of color.
Today’s look features both of these trends, taking into account the high temps still being experienced in SWLA with short sleeves and heeled sandals.
